NLA’s Director General, Hon. Peter L. Solo proclaims National Feeding Day

NLA’s Director General, Hon. Peter L. Solo proclaims National Feeding Day as he launched nationwide Christmas donation for Persons living with disabilities, Orphans, the homeless and elderly.
NLA/Monrovia/11/27/2025 – The Government of Liberia through the National Lottery Authority-Liberia (NLA) today, officially launched its 2025 Christmas Donation Initiative, a historic nationwide outreach targeting persons with disabilities, orphans, the homeless, and the elderly across all fifteen counties of Liberia. The launch ceremony, held at the NLA headquarters in Monrovia, was graced by the Co-Chairman of the Board of Directors, Hon. Curtis Dorley, Deputy Directors General, staff, partners, and representatives of beneficiary groups.


Delivering his special statement, the Director General of the National Lottery Authority, Hon. Peter L. Solo, described the occasion as a significant milestone in the NLA’s commitment to giving back to the community and promoting the welfare of Liberia’s most vulnerable citizens. Hon. Solo extended profound gratitude to the Government of His Excellency Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., and to the Board of Directors for their unwavering support in guiding the institution’s corporate social responsibility efforts.
He emphasized that the NLA is not solely focused on revenue generation but is deeply committed to positively transforming lives through dedicated social initiatives. Speaking further, the Director General announced that for the first time, the NLA is making simultaneous Christmas donations across all fifteen counties, reaching persons with disabilities, orphanages, and institutions caring for the elderly and homeless populations.


He assured beneficiaries that they are not forgotten; “We recognize your struggles, and we are committed to supporting you in any way we can. We believe that every Liberian deserves dignity, respect, and the opportunity to thrive.” Hon. Solo disclosed. This year’s nationwide donation includes substantial food items, benefiting 300 organizations, marking the largest single outreach ever undertaken by the National Lottery Authority. Hon. Solo urged Liberians to embrace the spirit of Christmas, love, kindness, and generosity while reminding beneficiaries that they are valued and supported. He expressed hope that the initiative would bring joy, comfort, and hope for a brighter future. The Director General commended NLA staff and partners for their tireless work in ensuring the success of this groundbreaking humanitarian effort.


In a symbolic and spiritual climax, Hon. Solo officially proclaimed the day as National Feeding Day for persons with disabilities, orphans, the homeless, and the elderly.
He concluded by reaffirming the NLA’s commitment to advancing social welfare and fostering national unity and development.
